Sound Hugs
Songs that wrap you up in warmth.
It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it feels so good.
It's like when you see old friend you haven't seen in ages; one that knows you so well, you both just pick up right where you left off.
I heard about William Fitzsimmons about 3 years ago when I first discovered Ingrid Michaelson. I didn't take the time to listen to his offerings, but the other day I came across an article on NPR discussing his newest album. I took a gander to his myspace and listened to a few tracks.
It was a hug of sound.
I fell in love with the story of his life; how he was surrounded by music his entire life, and brought up by blind parents. I wonder what I would have been like if my parents were musical? Is it socialization or psychology? These kinds of people lead me to think about the old nature/nurture debate, and it's true that it is a combination of both; but I can't help but wonder how much of an influence our parents have, especially in musical families?

Also, this made me laugh:
